Yan Wang

About Me

I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Tongji University, Shanghai, China, where I am advised by Prof. Hao Wu. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Tongji University in 2021. From Jul. 2023 to Feb. 2025, I interned at ByteDance Research focusing on protein generation. From Mar. 2025 to Sep. 2025, I visited Chalmers University of Technology, supervised by Prof. Simon Olsson.

Research Interests

My research lies at the intersection of machine learning, computational biology and statistial physics – with particular emphasis on AI for molecular dynamics and generative modeling. My work includes efficient sampling, transfer operator reweighting, conformation generation, variance reduction and uncertainty quantification.
